Audi serial numbers are located on the casing of the unit, this requires removing your stereo from the dashboard.
To do this is easy but requires special keys (PC5-132 or PC5-93 dependant on model of radio). In each corner of a Audi radio is slots which the keys fit into and once pressed into place will free the unit from the dashboard.

Turn on the radio, if "SAFE" is displayed hold down the mode and scan buttons together until
"0000" displays.To enter the code only requires the use of pre-set buttons
