This modern plain white LED license plate illumination has a number of functional and aesthetic advantages. The elaborate cluster of LEDs clearly illuminates the license plate, which in turn becomes clearly readable even in a bad visibility situation. The installation of the LED lights is very simple and does not require any additional intervention. It merely involves replacing the original license plate light. However, for models of Superb (3T) and Yeti (5L), it is necessary to perform an activation using a diagnostic device, which can be done by any authorised ŠKODA service shop. The LED license plate light has a long lifespan which means you don't have to replace blown light bulbs like you would for standard lights. Although it may seem like a marginal detail, even the license plate illumination is mandatory and it's liable to a fine if faulty.
